Event Art Direction:
Techtoberfest

Creative Director, Brand Strategy, Event Support

Brief
Techtoberfest made its return, this time hosted offsite at the historic Walper Hotel in downtown Kitchener. The design challenge was to craft a unique visual identity for the event, tying it closely to the Oktoberfest traditions and celebrations happening across the region.

Strategy
Inspired by the original Techtoberfest logo from 2013, I refreshed the wordmark with a contemporary update to align with current Communitech branding. We created two sub-identities: 'Investorhaus' in light blue for daytime events and 'After Dark' in deep blue for evening activities.

About Techtoberfest
Techtoberfest is a beloved Communitech tradition that unites the tech community for a day of networking, stein-clinking, and meaningful connections. Founders, partners, investors, and community members from across the Toronto-Waterloo Corridor come together to enjoy keynotes, breakout sessions, panels, and a pitch competition—all exploring the latest trends shaping the tech sector.
